Guerrilla Athletics is a training system established for young men whose aim it is to become better athletes. While this system specializes in hands-on performance training, Guerrilla Athletics takes parents and coaches through a first-of-its-kind theology of athletics. This two-pronged strategy of performance training and catechesis readies the athlete for physical fitness and competition while equipping their guardians with a Catholic conceptualization of athletics.

In the third millennium, coaches, players and parents are seemingly blind to the true meaning of athletics; that is, the training of the body in order to reach its full physical potential. The body, though, being that it is animated by the soul, cannot truly advance unless it’s properly directed by the spirit.

As the science of athletics has been largely ignored, this discipline has been dominated by a worldly philosophy mixed with watered-down theology. Accordingly, the modern sportsman has been left alone in the world of fitness, competition and sport with no real concept of what it is that they’re doing. As a result, fitness is merely about health, and competition and games are about nothing other than winning and entertainment.

By its very nature, the science of athletics transcends the temporal realm, and as such, this modern phenomenon demands, at the very least, a metaphysical treatment. In practical terms, Guerrilla Athletics unpacks — in a superlative way — a precise teleology that opens wide the door for human maturation, sanctification and flourishing.
